The race begins in Farm Pond – a gorgeous “kettle” lake formed by the melting remnant of one of the glaciers that departed from New England more than 12,000 years ago. It is about 58 feet at its deepest and covers about 124 acres. Check out a short video clip of this glorious body of water Farm Pond.
The bike and run course take place on the winding country roads that run through both Sherborn and Dover. Situated about 40 minutes from downtown Boston, these towns are bordered by Medfield, Needham, Natick, Walpole and Westwood. They provide a peaceful rural setting with many scenic roads and open space with miles of shady trails and woods for walking, cross-country skiing, birding, and horseback riding, as well as access to the Charles River.
